Summary

Feasibility study and a business plan have been prepared by the consortium SMEs: Bioseco sp. z o.o and SIRC sp. z o.o. under the leadership of the coordinating partner Bonda sp. z o.o.

The technical activities have encompassed planning detailed technical adjustments in the visual system of Bioseco, developing a detailed concept of a miniaturized radar system along with antennas based on the transceiver chip from SIRC, designing the architecture and planning implementation of the software for automated system control, visualization and reporting, developing a detailed concept for radio detection units, planning integration of the whole system and preparing a detailed technical implementation plan with milestones.

The business activities have covered providing a plan for potential clients acquisition: critical infrastructure operators and private persons willing to protect their habitats against drones invasion, planning wide scale device tests and demonstrations in operational environment in close cooperation with critical infrastructure partners and beyond, conducting market replication and pre-sales activities to prepare global market deployment of the SafeSky solution, planning production of the SafeSky system and performing full cost analysis, conducting risks assessment and SWOT analysis and making a thorough business analysis for the wide scale deployment of the SafeSky solution.

The proposed SafeSky system would be a very competitive solution to detect drones, and hence protect private sphere and critical infrastructure facilities against unauthorized and potentially unlawful intrusion of unmanned aerial vehicles. The feasibility and business study conducted in Phase 1 clearly shows SafeSky’s potential to be matured into a full-blown product, e.g. in Phase 2 and successfully deployed, promoted and sold on the global markets.

Work performed

The conducted feasibility study is attached is Annex 1. It contains a thorough overview of the work done during the project duration. In order to further develop the SafeSky business concept, additional, substantial funding is needed. It is fully described in the feasibility study, which is attached as Annex 1 to this final report.

Final results

A feasibility study and a business plan have been compiled. Technical activities towards SafeSky demontrator have been conducted and included prototypical implementation of critical sensors for the system: vision and radar. In addition to this, a wide marketing campaign has been performed and included numerous meetings with potential clients: LOTOS (oil rafinery), Chopin Warsaw International Airport, PKN Orlen (oil rafinery). Also, media coverage for the project has been achieved, including Associated Press, Gazeta Wyborcza, Do Rzeczy, SpidersWeb, Puls Biznesu, Onet.pl and Money.pl.
