Summary
SKYLYNX will be the first fully integrated solution for railway signalling, maintenance and surveillance increasing safety and reducing costs. It is an innovative tool for railway lifecycle management, composed by UAVs equipped with sensors, nesting platforms and back-end processing nodes that will offer services of railways assets and infrastructures. The system will enable and enhance the digitalisation of the railway transportation sector.
Work performed
Skylynx is composed by two well differentiated modules from a technical point of view. On one hand, a hardware composed by UAVs equipped with sensors and nesting platforms. On the other hand, a dedicated software designed to manage all the information gathered by the hardware. During the feasibility study period we have been working in both developments but paying special attention to the software platform. Today, we are making additional efforts to get the image recognition tool running. It will enable end-users to get a full automation of current tasks.
Final results
Skylynx will represent an enormous step forward for the Railway Industry increasing safety and reducing costs. It will serve as a digitalisation tool that will enable a more efficient management of transportation infrastructures.
