The goal of this study was to evaluate the market and adapt our developed Product to customer needs.
The time spent during this Phase1 period was spent on over 50 meetings with different potential customers from a wide range of applications that can benefit from a high bandwidth low cost platform.
These potential customers where met at both investor conferences and space conferences including personal connections.
In these meetings we met people from the different disciplines such as mobile backhauling, connected cars, insurance companies, imaging companies, in flight connectivity, weather applications, LEO constellations and GEO flexible satellite manufacturers. In these meetings we understood the needs for the different markets and what would be the key metric for them to choose our system over current systems, such as the price for a megabit of data, or the price of entry of the system, or maybe the amount of Gigabits of data that can be downloaded in a day etc. etc.
These new aspects of information helped define our demonstration mission that is to be launched in Q4 2018.
It also allowed us to define our current line of products and more importantly what we can offer customers and what we cannot.
In addition the marketing strategy of the company was built, again, what we are to pursue and what not.
It is very tempting as a new startup to talk to all interested and to work on material for them, however we found this is time consuming, and in most cases does not lead to a paying customer, so connecting the products we do have in our offer to the requests we receive and when not to pursue is important.
The company attended, the Satellite show in Washington, the Israeli Ramon space Conference, the Singapore Air show, and the Ourcrowd (our investor) annual summit.
Taking this accumulated information the post launch demonstration sales strategy was built and the next step future products where defined.
In fact, we have already applied and won several R&D funds that include the development of these future products, these products include a symmetrical on axis reflector with KA SDR full modem, a stand-alone Antenna deployment box for plug and play, a larger adaptive sub reflector for large LEO and small GEO satellites and finally a inter satellite link system (ISL) benefiting from our already developed systems.
Finally, 4 new provisional patents were filed as products of the intensive R&D development in the day to day of the company.
This project of Phase 1 was a feasibility study, we have made vast progress in understanding the use cases for our system and the needs of the different markets in which all have Socio-Economical impact.
These applications can be in flight connectivity, of communications in rural areas, or backhauling services to places with small capacity etc etc.
These new information areas will help us on what to show with our demonstration mission to gain customer and market interest for the next phase of the company.
