Study evaluation report 1

The results of the studies will be evaluated and presented in a single output that will provide a three dimensional analysis of the demands for data science training crossing many sectors and needs within those sectors. This dashboard view of data science training demand will allow stakeholders to quickly view the perspective of Europe, as well as each country covered during the study. Accompanying the dashboard will be an executive summary detailing the significant findings, a recommendation for curricula development and a brief discussion of future opportunities for further studies. Where possible, open data will be provided such that others can also download the raw data and evaluate the project’s findings. A second version of the report will be produced for M18

Study design document

Lead: ODI

This deliverable will detail the different qualitative and quantitative studies to be carried out in order to establish cross sector demand for data science training. The outline of the qualitative studies will include a template of the questionnaire and variations for each sector and industry type. A brief discussion on survey methodology and opportunities for evaluation will also be included. Finally a list of associates that will carry out the surveys and collate results will also be provided with associated costs (as described in section 2.3.5.1 of Part B). This deliverable will also outline the quantitative evaluation techniques and critically evaluate how each relates to the qualitative questionnaire. This deliverable will develop further the comprehensive study in section 1.3 to demonstrate the evolution of demand for data science training across many sectors.

Real-world and online community engagement plan

This deliverable will be based upon a study of which “real world” activities (meetups, focus groups, hackathons), the social media channels (mailing lists, wikis, blogs) to be strategically targeted by the project, and will plan a series of EDSA-organized events. A plan will be put in place for feedback-solicitation and continued engagement. In particular we will propose how impact related to those channels will be monitored throughout the project’s timeline.
