CLB Europe explored the feasibility of upscaling their production process to accommodate the large scale production of SiGrAM, a proprietary Anode Material designed for Lithium ion Batteries capable of increasing their charge / discharge capacity by 3. With it being such an innovative technology it\'s production and use is restricted to high-tech industries. The Feasibility Study allowed Visolis to engage in high level conversations within the lithium battery manufacturers and end users and get an improved understanding of their feelings, motives and concerns on the SiGrAM technology. CLBEurope learnt that there is great interest and therefore hope to continue it\'s development and path to commercialisation.
CLB explored many sites and potential future partners to complement them in their development and eventual manufacturing. As a result CLB now have 3 partner companies they are working with all offering different skill sets to add to the project and help bring it to the market.
The expected impact of the SiGrAM material is large, increasing battery life up to three times. SiGrAM has the potential to be disruptive, especially in emerging markets such as, Electirc Vehicles and Power Storage Systems. Once commercialised CLB intend ot make further developments on the material turning into a large international business, selling globally.
