Summary

The main objectives of the project We Create Science ang History:

To increase the awareness of the general public (in particular young people) with regard to:
a) The role of science and researchers in everyday life by pointing out the importance of research, discoveries and innovations which have a direct impact on the life and development of the civilisation;
b) Ground-breaking scientific discoveries which changed the world in the context of the cultural heritage year;
c) Personal and professional benefits resulting from the fact of being a researcher by describing the profession of a researcher, which provides innumerable opportunities for development, learning the world, modern and innovative working methods, as well as combining passion and the development of professional career;
d) The reduction in stereotypes about the researcher’s work in the closed laboratory isolated from the rest of the world;
e) Financing research and the development of scientific staff through various EU programmes and mechanisms;
f) Encourage young people to study and conduct research in Europe.


The project: We Create Science and History was carried out in accordance with the objectives, and the expected results were achieved.

Work performed

\"AWARNESS CAMPAIGN:

Public at large regardless of age and scientific background; Special attention to be paid to children and young people, especially about making career choice

Throughout the duration of the project are carried out the activities on Children University. The special education offer was developed for schools in Szczecin and the region. The high school graduates were included in the program: “You can be a researchers”. During the event all participants were involved in a specially prepared agenda. The representatives of employers were invited to participate in the activity. Companies in the technology industry have prepared special shows of modern equipment.


Pre-events: like open workshops for groups , invitation to schools and groups to develop their own project modules before ERN\'19 at secondary schools‘ premises in Szczecin and the cities within 100 km radius from the city of Szczecin;.

Posters, leaflets, brochures. More than 200 locations (schools and cultural centers) in: Szczecin, Stargard, Gryfino, Pyrzyce, Przybiernów, Goleniów, Gryfino, Kołbaskowo, Wysoka Kamieńska, Mirosławiec.

Large format advertising: 300 m2 in three most popular public space in Szczecin

Airing of promotional spots, announcements, interviews, programmes on several radio and TV.

Publication of articles, announcements, advertisements in regional and national press.

Press conference with the participation of the local media and university authorities.

Pre-events: Open workshops for groups (invitation to schools and groups to develop their own project modules before ERN 2019 at secondary schools‘ premises in Szczecin and the cities within 100 km radius from the city of Szczecin.
On September 1, the European Researchers\' Night (as a pre-event) took part in the event at the end of preventive activities conducted by the Polish Addiction Prevention Foundation, which were run throughout the summer at the Szczecin boulevards.
On September 15 and 16, we had a promotional stand at the end of summer at Grodzka Island during the Bulwarove Event, which took place at the Old Town during the whole summer.

The leaflets were also distributed during the local events: May 26, June 27, 2018 , 8-10 June, 2018 - National Days of the Sea , 10-11 August,2018 - Pyromagic – fireworks international show , 22-23 September 2018 - exhibitions children\'s assortment

Online:

Revamping and constant updating of project website;
Links with partners, institutional and popular websites;
Setting up of social network profiles;
Internet advertising campaign;
Cooperation with coordinators of other ERN events at the National level: MałopolskaRN, UNIGHTED, SCIENCENIGHT.

All promotional materials were made in accordance with the requirements of the project. Appropriate marking and information on financing has been provided.

Programme of activities:

SZCZECIN
Over 180 attractions in the program, workshops, lectures with scientists, experiments.
Design and creativity: colour at the times of photography, workshops in manual modelling.
Poster and multi-media exhibitions: \"\"Inventions, which have changed our lives” , “Europe\'s Cultural Heritage” , “Scientists are among us” , “Horizon 2020 unites people by the means of science”.
Laser show (about 1000 m2 surface) with mapping.
Festival of drones, shows and instruction to drone controlling /toys\"

Final results

An even larger number of recipients has been planned. Participants were invited to participate in additional partners, such as Science Centers from Poland (Warszawa, Łódź, Toruń, Kraków).
