This project was designed to test the technical and economic feasibility of a very rapid diagnostic test for malaria based on novel biomarkers developed by Vaximax and a radically new detection technology implemented by Metemis.

The study included a demonstration of prototype performance with regard to rapidity, sensitivity, specificity and robustness under expected field conditions. In addition, the device design and projected production costs were optimised to ensure competitiveness in low-income malaria endemic countries. Finally, an in-depth market study allowed us to identify the most attractive targets for commercialisation of the proposed MalaDiag device.
