Summary

MedioTrade Ltd., the MCTDC project owner have been developing a multi-channel time-to-digital converter (TDC) sensor with ultra high resolution. MedioTrade Ltd. uses a novel approach in their FPGA based TDC sensors, which allows them to provide great value for their customers.

During the six month long period of H2020 SME Instrument Phase1, a Feasibility Study has been completed including eight tasks. In the task of key organizational and technological issues, our company was examined to ensure that the execution of the project is well structured and to analyse how the project constraints meet the strategic objectives. With the help of the PEST method, we identified the political, economic, social and technological factors which can influence our company. In Task 3 a detailed SWOT analysis was prepared. Our market analysis clarified the size, characteristics, historical growth factors, previously influenced market growth and projected growth rate of our targeted markets. Based on this analysis, we could define and finalize the objectives and opportunities enhancing the position of our product. We have defined the pricing level, the pricing method, the pricing system and the potential discount structure. Based on the pricing analysis, our financial projections were prepared. In the last task, we extensively investigated the market barriers and other risks and prepared a step-by-step plan to overcome them.

Work performed

As the conclusion of the action, the following tasks have been completed: We identified the challenges that our specific market segments face. As a planned outcome of the next development phase, specific and customized products were defined with the description of the needed tasks. During negotiations with our Partners, the technological feasibility of the products were validated. Based on the feedback from our partners, we identified our main target markets, which were analysed in detail to provide information on the advantages and limitations of these markets. The analysis has clarified the appropriate market segments which will be in the main focus of the direction of further development. We have completed an organizational analysis to justify the needed organizational modifications for the next product development phase. We presented the latest IP issues and our commercialization strategy to successfully reach the chosen market segments.

Final results

As a final result of the feasibility study MedioTrade Ltd. concluded that the project has the potential and ability to achieve a successful product launch and product life. Therefore the development will continue based on a revised development plan. With additional financial resources we expect an exponential growth of the company in terms of size, revenue and market share.
