The project is aimed at advancing the science of urban road systems modeling, under the connected car concepts and supported by urban Big Data collection and processing, with the objective of developing and demonstrating a suite of new services that explore business opportunities associated with sustainable road urban systems and cloud based Road Mobility rich data.
The i2D project promoters plan to validated and demonstrate these concepts at a test bed in the Lisbon main road infrastructure access, based on more than 8 thousand connected cars along 24 months.
With the valuable help of external consultancy, i2D team expanded and fine-tuned Connected Cars knowledge, going deep on the current state-of-the-art and conducing to a realistic Feasibility Study under our vision.
Started a pre-campaign close to the main Transport Players (Mobility Managers, City Council, OEM, Insurance and Energy distributors), presenting the “Lisbon Smart Driving Pilot-Project Conceptâ€.
Collected feedback could not have been more elucidative: the consensus and enthusiasm exceeded our best expectations.
The Lisbon Smart Driving demonstration pilot is expected to be the trigger to transform business partners into future customers and building a new appealing Car Social Community.
i2D contribution will be mainly focused on automobile B2B customers, having in mind that all of them are addressing a huge B2C market.
