This project started with the ultimate goal of assessing the viability of the Nano-Eye Device (NED) development and commercialization project.
According to several feedbacks gained from highly qualified Professionals in the area of Clinical Pathology and Virology, it has been clearly assessed which the most promising markets, in the short and medium term, for the NED are mainly those of Digital Pathology and Virus Detection using DNA microarrays and nanoparticles, where specific uses of the instrument have been identified.
The information gathered, coupled with the availability of some up to date market reports, have been contributing to the definition of the final architecture of the NED in each specific configuration, as well as confirming the sales forecast data already planned and reinforcing the value proposition.
A wide set of structured tasks in the area of market prospection, market data gathering, end-user feedback collection, review of the Company strategic and operational plan and financial assessment have been performed.
These led to the production of a final business plan which is confirming the positive market and social impact of this project, as well as its attractiveness for external investors.
By investigating the area of NED market potential and NTP main competitors further assumptions have been confirmed and new data have been gathered and “ex post†reviewed.
Moreover, discussion and baseline definitions for agreement with relevant technological partners have been also starting up.
Proper internal assessment on the specific requirements and the activities needed for the certification and the clinical validation of the NED have been done too.
Getting more and more information, analysis on Company’s Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats has been performed, in parallel with risks identification and mitigation strategies definition.
KPIs have been setup for measuring financial, operational and management performances.
The organizational plan capable of supporting the operational plan has been defined and, along the project timeframe, generally speaking NTP has been improving a lot in terms of process management awareness.
The evidences taken as examples to measure the impact and the dissemination of results of the project are either the Investment Agreements of around 900 K Euro which NTP is going to sign with 2 Investors and the patent awarding from EPO.
Last but not least, the financial plan confirms the viability of the NED project according to the forecasted investment plan.
