Overview on market design options for European electricity markets

This deliverable describes and discusses different market design options, which are already in place in different EU-member states, but also the ones that are strongly discussed and are expected to be introduced in some EU-countries. These design options cover i.a. energy-only-markets (EOM), centralized and decentralized capacity markets and strategic reserves. The discussion will also contain the specific variation of the design options in some EU-countries and first experiences with alternative design options.
