Report on the influence of chemical factors on SODIS inactivation Deliverable in the form of a report on chemical enhancement of SODIS involving: 1. Naturally occurring groundwater constituents (photoactive NOM and Iron oxides) selected in Task 4.2, in order to generate photosensitized reactive oxygen species (ROS) to enhance bacterial solar disinfection. (EPFL, BU, URJC, CIEMAT-PSA, USC). 2. The influence of oxygen and H2O2 on SODIS. (CIEMAT-PSA, USC, EPFL). This will be investigated in its contribution of inactivating of microbial pathogens in water naturally containing Fe forms, under simulated and natural solar light. Finally, the use of homogenous catalysis has to be considered, given its significant efficiency even in low intensity light.
