Summary

TERTIUM Technology designs and produces electronic devices integrating technologies such as Bluetooth, GPS and GPRS for the mobile internet of things, IoT.
Logist-IoT is our platform solution based on RFID electronic sensor devices and cloud services for customers in the logistic chain of perishable food and pharmaceutical products. Our vision is to deliver an end-to-end solution to final users and logistics operators with a focus in the last-mile section of the cold chain logistics.
In order to confirm the feasibility of Logist-IoT we have developed the present document that checks the technical, commercial and financial feasibility of our project. We have analyzed the technical developments ahead and prepared an execution plan for the new Logist-IoT platform. We have performed an in-depth analysis of the target markets and a market survey among potential customers, out of which we have developed our market strategy and plan for commercialization. Financially, we have drafted a 3-year financial forecast which has confirmed the potential return on investment of Logist-IoT.

Work performed

Activities performed and results obtained:
Task 1: Technical viability plan: We have evaluated the technical developments necessary to implement, test and validate the new Logist-IoT to reach our technical goals. We have estimated resources, costs and timing and prepared a technical risk assessment defining mitigation and contingency plans.
Task 2 Commercialisation plan: A detailed market analysis has been conducted which includes the international market of cold chain logistics for pharmaceuticals and perishable food, its barriers, and the risks to be overcome. We have developed a commercialization plan which is the result of our market research and a customer survey performed among our potential customers. IP protection alternatives and Freedom to Operate have been investigated. Activities to reach go-to-market stage have been planned.
Task 3 Financial plan: We have created an updated business plan which includes the evaluation of total investment, financial risks and mitigation strategies. We have performed a 3-year analysis on cash-flow and revenues. Budget for phase II has been estimated and required funding beyond the project has been analyzed.

Final results

Logist-IoT is a smart logistics technology solution supporting Smart Mobility. It is focused at the last mile delivery of temperature-sensitive goods within urban areas. It reduces the in-transit losses of distribution companies and helps operators to monitor and protect assets in real time. The transport sector will be furnished with a tool that enhances compliance with recent food and pharmaceutical handling regulations and guidelines. Real-time information will allow users to continuously improve routes and operations, resulting in saved CO2 emissions
