Summary

The connection between the concrete pile’s and the pile cap’s reinforcement bars is key for the stability of the foundation of every construction project, especially in non-cohesive soils, where reinforced foundation is required. To achieve this connection, the concrete from the pile’s head needs to be removed to expose the reinforcement bars. However, all today’s solutions (e.g. hand-held breakers, drum cutters, pile breakers) apply vertical forces to the concrete pile, resulting in cracks, damaging the concrete structure. .
The objectives of the Feasibility Study was to identify risks and contingency measures, further market research, and estimate accurate funding needs and financial projections emerged from a commercial strategy.

Work performed

• We have developed a work plan structure
• We have analyse our logistical and operational capability) to scale up our production
• We have set up the basic guidelines for training regarding BREXTOR usage and service
• We have identified potential risks involved in launching BREXTOR and established contingency measures
• We have set up the guidelines for the IPR strategy.
• We have reassessed the regulatory requirements that BREXTOR will have to comply
• We have drafted a commercialization strategy
• We have determined and quantified the target market,
• We have refined our dissemination strategy with a set of pre-established activities.
• We have accurately assessed the financial requirements for BREXTOR project and the financial projections.
• Fine-tuned the Business plan (revenue model, pricing strategy, resources etc., including a Canvas)

Final results

Through BREXTOR successful exploitation we will influence from a socio-economic perspective:
• Improving the safety of the building structure in which BREXTOR will operate
• Improve construction worker´s health through avoidance of vibratory related diseases due to usage of manual hydraulic hammer equipment.
• Enhancing construction industry in Europe by increasing the demand of equipment and components to develop thousands of BREXTOR units assembled from European manufactured components (cutter, motors, etc.).
• As the process for head pile cutting shortens with our process, we expect to influence the environment as well due to a significant noise reduction emerged from shortening the pilling period.
