Sislum is an ICT-controlled horizontal signal system based on a sensor-beacon that rules up and down from the ground level; it emits ultra-bright LED light and sounds to exert a coercive effect against upcoming hazards. The system promotes “smart mobility†through maximum crosswalk visibility.
Our project goal is to come up with a full-fledged Sislum system be ready to market launch. To reach it, three areas of technical improvements have been identified: the design of beacon design; the design of electrical panel; and Validation of Sislum in the pilots, evaluating the different operating conditions and using it as a reference to expand Sislum to other countries.
During the FS we carried out an analysis of the improvements to take Sislum to market, which include the three technical areas abovementioned. We have defined a detail work plan identifying the profiles, budget and person/month needed to complete the project.
Sislum proposes the very first Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) for proper and attentive driving for road users which addresses the two key issues of warning systems: tunnel vision reduction and IoT integration. Sislum increases road safety and promotes “smart mobility†through maximum crosswalk visibility, becoming a key enabler device to reduce road accidents up to 70%.
