The first legally binding climate deal was adopted in Paris in 2015, where 195 countries agreed to keep global warming well below 2°C. The European Union was the first major economy to take concrete steps towards this common goal, generating new laws that must be complied by companies and public administrations as soon as possible.
In this context, Klappir Green Solutions is developing an integrated platform to improve environmental transparency and accounting in industrial value chains. The software will collect real-time, high-resolution digital data from value chain´s emitting sources for the first time in the market.
As a part of the development of the project, a feasibility study is needed to confirm that there is a real market for the product whilst the conditions for the commercialization are beneficial. The objectives of this study are focused on:
- An analysis of primary target markets, key partners and main competitors.
- A revision of regulation, standards and compliance in primary target markets.
- An assessment of IP, data security and communication infrastructure.
- A complete time and resource management plan for the phase 2 project.
Interviews with current customers to better understand their operational and legal needs.
An analysis of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) software market: the market is growing and competitors don´t offer real-time solutions.
The study demonstrates that governments and institutions are creating new environmental regulations that make our solution even more necessary in the market for the future years.
An IP analysis demonstrates that our solution should be protected through copyright in the different markets where the product is sold.
Time and resource management plan: we have the appropriate resources and knowledge to develop the technical and commercial activities on time to achieve the market after the phase 2 period.
The business plan demonstrates that the business idea is profitable and it has a positive impact.
Klappir Enterprise represents a big market opportunity capable of generating sales in excess of €9m by 2022, creating 25 new direct jobs and representing a real innovation into the EH&S software market.
The product addresses key points of real-time environmental transparency and accountability, CO2 footprint and energy efficiency for both the private and public sector, contributing to the achievement of the Paris 2015 agreement goals.
