'Despite the growing numbers of crises (both natural and human-caused), most entities do not operate with proper management systems for emergencies, but instead use conventional project management software that works only in safe conditions. Thus, whenever a disaster strikes (floods, earthquakes, etc.), there is a life-threatening incidence or an emergency situation (terrorist attack, fire etc.), regular management tools break down and cause further chaos. Moreover, the different players usually involved in incident management (e.g. police, firemen, emergency services, etc.) each have their own management procedures, which do not enable effective and timely communication and coordination. Our company, SAReye ehf was founded in 2013 to develop solutions for these issues, and so we present PulSAR, the first user-friendly and cost effective incident management software, which combines disaster management with Search and Rescue. In this way, it provides immediate network and continuous status notification (if necessary on a national level for achieving the highest cooperation) as well as tailored pre-plans to handle different types of incidents. Experts have defined PulSAR as “an outstanding Incident Management System that fits perfectly with needs in small regional incidents as well as national calamities.” (J. S. Hjartarson, CEO Icelandic Search and Rescue) and is gathering huge interest from all kind of stakeholders, from first responders, and public safety communities, to governmental level: we recently received the Annual Honor IT Achievement Award 2017 for 'an outstanding contribution in the field of information technology, creating value and enriching the Icelandic community with utilisation of IT' from the president of Iceland herself. Our next aim upon the great results that we have is thus to increase PulSAR’s range of application even more, implementing new modules with tailored solutions for specific incidents while strengthening our presence worldwide.'
