ClariFruit developed a next-generation, automated QCaaS (quality control as a service) platform that facilitates fast and intelligent quality control for fresh produce. Growers, wholesalers, and retailers use ClariFruit's application over a smartphone camera, combined with data from external sensors (such as spectrometric devices that measure chemical properties and mechanical devices that measure physical properties) to assay fruits and vegetables. The data is collected into an ever-growing cloud-based database containing millions of such readings from the entire userbase. An innovative machine-learning algorithm integrates the data of both internal and external attributes: size, weight, sugar content, ripeness, freshness, firmness, durability, and more. In a matter of seconds, an accurate evaluation of the produce's quality is reflected in a report that includes a grade-based quality assessment. ClariFruit’s platform assists customers with immediate savings of more than 50% of time and cost. It is universally deployable, functioning on any smart mobile device, and using crowd wisdom it constantly “learns” to provide more accurate results. It boasts an intuitive user interface that will render quality control accessible to all, as opposed to a few professionals. The result: waste prevention, dramatic cost reduction, transparency, and standardisation of the fresh-produce market.
