The EVIS project main objective is to achieve improved engine mounting system in terms of technology and associated process enabling high level of comfort for passengers. Cost and weight reduction comparison to existing engine mounting system will be also part of such main objective.
In order to meet the project main objective, the following sub-objectives will have to be reached:
• Establish a detailed technical specifications of the engine mounts;
• Design, develop and manufacture a specific EVIS addressing all requirements using Hutchinson knowledge and products
• Support engine ground test campaign
• Analyse test results to propose EVIS improvements
During the period from the start of the project to the 31/12/2017, the first sub-objective has been met and the second one has been started.
During the next period, the first set of EMS has been delivered and is supported the engine during its ground test campaign.
During the first period of the project, the technical specifications of the EVIS have been established and a solution has been proposed to Topic Leader for review.
This first solution is a mix of existing parts and totally new parts, due to specific programme requirements.
During the second period of the project, all the design, development and manufacturing activities have been accomplished. And the proposed solution has passed the Preliminary Design Review.
Following this major milestone, a full EVIS set has been delivered to the Topic leader, in May 2019 to be installed on the test bench.
Since june 2019, the new TP engine is running, supported by this Engine Vibration Isolation System.
Here is the main objective of the project, as described in the first paragraph : supply on improved, lighter, and cost effective engine mounting system.
A specific solution has been developped for the project due to the severe thermal environment around the afterward isolator.
The current engine ground test campaign will allow us to check and corrolate the system behaviour.
