Fjölblendir was born out of the belief that there had to be an economically viable solution to off-set the disproportionate emissions arising from small engines. In an engine, the key to keep emissions under wraps is to make sure the fuel is supplied in the exact required quantities, at each point of the acceleration curve. That is how the simple, yet optimal design of our patented Total Combustion Technology (TCT) came to life.
Until now engine manufacturers have been using the standard carburetor to supply fuel to their engines. The standard carburetor cannot be calibrated to provide the optimum air/fuel ratio. Also the fuel is not well atomized causing incomplete combustion. These two factors result in higher emissions.
Emissions reduction is very important for society as they do not only pollute the environment but may also cause respiratory problems. Very good progress has been made with the reduction of emissions in cars. But SORE engines (lawnmowers, generators, snowblowers, etc) that are typically used in residential areas and the smaller motorcycles are a very big emissions contributor. There is currently no legislation in place for existing engines as the legislation only applies to new engines.
The overall objective is to develop, manufacture and sell the TCT Fuel System in a mechanical and electronic version as a fueling solution that will allow engine manufacturers to lower the emissions from their engines with an affordable and competitive fuel system – TCT.
We have carried out a comprehensive analysis of the feasibility of the developments of our TCT carburetor. We have studied the target market: small off-road engines and motorcycles. We have updated our patent search and also our strategy of patenting. We made a preliminary plan of the activities necessary to develop the electronic TCT and to adapt the TCT for motorcycles. Our partner search lead us consider changes priorities. The financial plan shows the potential of the TCT especially in the motorcycle market. In the five years taken into account in the sales forecast we will have an accumulated revenue of $5,9 million.
While the SORE market is huge, we see even higher potential and impact in the motorcycles market. We will continue to follow the project idea by starting to add the electronic parts and to enter the motorcycles market to start commercialization with electronic carburetors.
