The current mobile video playing technology is static i.e. it allows the viewer to perform very simple operations such as play, pause, stop, and seek forward or backward and the end user does not have any mean to interact with video in real time. The main reason behind this bottleneck lies in the foundations of current mobile video playing technology of android and iOS environment which is optimized for linear, static and non-interactive video playback and does not support creative consumption and live remixing of video content.
Interactive video can have limitless possibilities but the most important societal driver behind developing such a solution would be to impart better learning and educational facilities. We are witnessing a great surge in the video consumption and with the current Do-It-Yourself (DIY) trends everyone has the power to learn using video. Just think about the impact of video on E-learning if you can interact with video in real time just like you do with web content or images.
