 Project objective

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) is the usage of computer software to create precision drawings or technical illustrations.Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software is used to optimize such designed models by simulations in order to improve product performance or assist in the resolution of engineering problems for a wide range of industries. The CAD model needs to be adapted all through the CAE simulation several times, making this step very complex with existing solutions. This limits the present adoption of CAE to niche high value products in Automotive, Healthcare and Energy industries. RBF2CAD is a unique stand-alone software based on mesh morphing technology that combines a very accurate control of the geometrical parameters with an extremely fast mesh deformation for all CAD designs, fully integrated in the Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) solving process. RBF2CAD at its core aims to provide a solution which can leverage the latest technologies for computing and provide extremely fast mesh deformation platform. Further the stand-alone platform will provide a user-friendly and cost-effective way to enable wider access to mesh-morphing across the CAE ecosystem. The potential users for RBF2CAD are CAD and CAE engineers working at large corporations. RBF2CAD will be highly useful in the automotive, aeronautical, additive manufacturing and healthcare industry. RBF2CAD intends to take up feasibility studies in two major areas for the Phase 2 project namely Technical and Business Feasibility.
