 Project objective

Cancer is one of the most deadly diseases on the planet and radiotherapy (RT), a pillar treatment in the fight against it.

Imagine that patients from all over the world could have access to the most specialized RT professionals and that waiting times for treatment could be diminished. This is what we are proposing with Mercurius Connect platform, a Gig economy marketplace where RT Centres can find highly specialised dosimetrists, from all over the world, to perform clinical dosimetries on demand.

The creation of a clinical dosimetry, a treatment plan, that determines a set of radiation fields, which will deliver the prescribed radiation dose to a delimited tumour volume, while minimizing the impact on surrounding tissue/organs, is one of the most complex and time-consuming tasks in RT.

Mercurius Connect provides to RT Centres the possibility to get a high-quality service, while diminishing inefficiencies related with over or underestimation of the number of required professionals. On the other hand, the solution offers to RT Centres in low-and-middle-income countries, access to highly specialised radiotherapy professionals, where the lack of these resources is a huge challenge.
