The main objective of the GREENGRAPHENE Project on the Phase-1 stage was to discover the potential of our graphene product produced with our patented environment-friendly and cost-efficient method in the composites industry and increase graphene penetration to this industry which is a €63,2 Billion market. The main obstacle to achieve this objective was determined to be the extreme price ranges (2800-7600 €/kg) that graphene producers offer for the material previously. As the main motivation of the composite producers was offering performance properties (e.g. electrical conductivity, thermal resistance, mechanical strength) comparable with the current metallic and ceramic materials with affordable prices, our green method that offers the lowest price ranges (<85 €/kg) possible determined to be an important way to achieve the objectives as fast as possible.
We intended to prepare a detailed feasibility report on the subject for the validation of our GREENGRAPHENE Project idea. In order to prepare this report; we (I) made a market analysis study through fairs and business meetings, (II) developed new marketing strategies by e-marketing tools, with composite companies and end-users, (III) arranged one-by-one meetings with industrial leaders (composite end-users) and (IV) created strong collaborations with the industrial leaders and scientific communities of Europe.
During the Phase-1 period, we realized that in order to achieve the main objectives of our GREENGRAPHENE Project, we need to (1) study extensively on our Graphene Manufacturing Plant and further lower the prices of graphene to <50 €/kg levels, (2) develop customer-specific semi-products of graphene for composite companies and end-users in collaboration with them, (3) expand our existing qualified team with skilled experts, consultants and subcontractors and build competent teams in critical functions (Marketing, R&D, Product Development etc.) and (4) focus more on marketing strategies using e-marketing tools to reach more composites companies in a simple and cost-efficient way.
