'During the European Researchers Night researchers will leave their laboratories, take over St. Poelten, the capital city of Lower Austria and transform it into the “Destination Future”. While the successful Researches Night “F.I.T für Forschung” turned the campus of St. Poelten University of Applied Sciences into an intellectual fitness centre in 2011, the event will cover the whole city center in 2013 with loads of different activities taking place at several locations, such as the train station, the cinema paradiso, the state theatre, the city museum, the cathedral, the main square and temporary disused salesrooms. Visitors of the European Researchers Night will be invited to join a journey through time, to betake themselves into the future and to experience manifold future prospects. Scientists and researchers as well as designers and artists will present their visions of possible social, cultural, technical developments. Mainly interactive activities on the base of ongoing research projects in fields like information and communication technologies, health, human sciences, design, art and archaeology ensure an exchange of ideas and experiences between researchers and the public. The main goal of the Researchers Night is to attract as large an audience as possible. It is crucial that researchers will meet all age groups, genders, as well as both rural and urban populations. Learning today is life long and international. All groups can provide the researchers of the future. The Researcher Night will follow a multi-disciplinary approach and will offer a diversified program for the mind, body and soul, which not only presents researchers and their ideas to the public but also gives the audience the chance to take an active role in some of the activities to experience the world of researchers: Future: Mobility, Future:Living, Future:Learning, Future:Nutrition, Future:Fitness, Future Fashion, Future:Science:Playground and many other activities.'
