'For the Researchers’ Night 2007, 8 partners in 5 towns of the West part of France (from Bordeaux to Brest) will share their human and scientific richness. Researchers working in universities, research centers as Inserm and scientific, technical and industrial culture centres will be at the core of the events during the evening of the 28th of September 2007, around the theme Researchers and the Information and Communication Technologies. Music and theatre events, offered by researchers themselves, will demonstrate that they are not these “unreachable” persons but in fact people like any other. Meetings with researchers in unusual places will demonstrate that they are accessible, have hobbies, families, help the citizen’s daily life, have a fascinating job. Workshops and night visit of scientific as well as cultural sites will welcome the public. Viewings, discussions and debates will allow anyone to express himself about the image of researchers and their role in our society. In order to make the young public more sensible to the world of the researchers, a drawing competition (Please draw a researcher) will be launched, during the awareness campaign and will be addressed to fundamental, secondary and High artistic schools. In order to illustrate the European participation in the project and allow the large public to better understand the European support in favour of researchers, the European dimension will be pointed out at different stages of the project with the “drawing competition” (awarded at a European level) and with a European stand, which will be set up around informative and promotion functions. Beneficiaries local researchers of European support will be especially involved during the night. A common graphic design will be created during a general assembly of the consortium. This is essential in order to provide a visual homogeneity all around the West part of France (in accordance with the communication campaign towards national and regional media).'
