'An EU presidency event will be organized with the objective to discuss the key factors impacting on the attractiveness of the researcher profession (with a special focus on young researchers) and how the measures proposed in the ERA framework can respond to these in the most effective way. The conference will be held on November 14 (the second half of the day) and November 15 (the first half of the day) at the Lithuanian Academy of Sciences in Vilnius.
Up to 200 participants are expected. They will be the EU and national policy makers, opinion leaders and the stakeholders, including representatives of funding organizations, early stage and established researchers both in academic and non-academic sector, their employers, people from European professional and special interest associations of researchers, and social partners involved in developing, managing and using the human resources in R&D.
The conference will provide a suitable forum for discussing issues related to the policy initiatives and actions at EU and national levels concerning the development of human resources in research and innovation, thereby contributing to the realization of the objectives of ERA. The conference will address the relevant topics from different perspectives while highlighting challenges and best practices. This conference will also encourage young people to embark on scientific careers.
Dissemination of printed conference materials including an executive summary of deliberations and conclusions is foreseen for non-participating stakeholders who would likely use them for reference.'
