The main objective of the innovation project is to provide a solution for far sighted users of digital devices such as tablets, navigation systems and mobile phones; named Rabbit-View. There is a large unmet need for corrective eyesight in novel technologies, for which hitherto no adequate solution exists. A large number of people tend not to wear eyeglasses when reading mobile devices, possibly due to reasons of vanity or discomfort that might be caused by incorrect prescriptions, wrong glasses etc. As screen use is continuously increasing in both the social and work related environment this can lead to a vulnerable position for those with (uncorrected) eye abbreviations. The inability to view screens without glasses has a negative impact on the productivity of (elderly) workers. It can also cause social isolation as mobile phones and the internet will be one of main methods of communication in the future. Furthermore, uncorrected abbreviations or the use of multifocals can potentially lead to dangerous situations especially on the road e.g. someone leaning away and squinting trying to get a better view of the navigation system while driving. It is thus harmful to society at large. Rabbit-View paves the way for a more inclusive society, enhancing technology with novel technical solutions. The team of Rabbit-eyes has developed the world’s first, ground-breaking solution for automated correction of far sightedness by manipulating light emission from screens and thus allowing for easy viewing of screens without the need for glasses.
