 Obiettivo del progetto (Objective)

'SoMoPro programme provides incoming grants in the field science, technology and medicine to the most promising experienced researchers of any nationality to undertake a research training programme in the South Moravian region. The programme runs an open, merit-based competition for the applying researchers, founded on international peer review. The freedom of the fellows to choose a research topic and the appropriate Research Organization fitting their individual needs are key elements of the SoMoPro. Funding is provided to cover expenses related to the fellow and his/her research project - a living allowance, a travel and mobility allowance and a research costs contribution. Additionally, the host research organization receives contributions to overheads. There are two main aims of the SoMoPro programme: 1) provide training and career development to researchers 2) build on the growing activities and projects in the field of R&D and innovation in the region of South Moravia and enhance their effect by attracting top-class researchers to work and undertake research training in the region from 1 to 3 years, with a view to developing mutually-beneficial research co-operation. SoMoPro Programme was established in 2009 after a successful application to COFUND scheme. Since then two Calls had been open, one in 2009 and second in 2010. Altogether 26 research fellows were selected. The next Calls (3rd and 4th) are covered by the follow-up SoMoPro II Programme. The upcoming 3rd and 4th Calls, beside the financial contribution which would enable us to finance more fellows, further increase international importance/recognition of the programme as it represents a certain mark of quality. We believe that this state is for the benefit of both the fellows by having a status of Marie Curie fellows, as well as the regional Research Organization as it may help to increase the number of high-quality applicants.'
