 Obiettivo del progetto (Objective)

'This project proposes the tighter integration of data-intensive (Big Data) applications with datacenter and cluster networks, leveraging on the matching features and programmability offered by the concepts of Software-Defined Networks. Given that such applications generate high volumes of data, they can easily lead to network congestion and in turn poor application performance. Given the high anticipated penetration of such applications, addressing the above problems today is of paramount importance. The candidate has over 10 years of research expertise in networking research, has been affiliated with high-prestige research organizations and has already published impacting work in the area. In light of the need of the global economy for faster processing of the huge volumes of new data that is being constantly produced, in conjunction with the fact that SDN is a technology that is highly-likely to dominate future datacenters and HPC clusters, there is high anticipated impact of the resarch outcome to be procuded out the proposed project.'
