 Obiettivo del progetto (Objective)

'In 2008 the two main funding bodies for applied and basic research in Hungary, the National Office for Research and Technology (NKTH) and the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund (OTKA) Office have developed a complex programme for supporting researchers’ career-development through their international mobility, which is proposed for the FP7 COFUND programme. The programme covers the following 3 activity areas: A./ Outgoing mobility scheme: The scheme is open for those Hungarian experienced researchers, who would like to enlarge their specialised knowledge through the execution of research projects at outstanding international research sites. In the frame of the support scheme maximum 2 years of basic or applied research can be funded. Part of the funded period may be spent reintegrated to the Hungarian host institute. B./ Incoming mobility scheme: The scheme is open for those non-Hungarian experienced researchers, who are nationals of an EU Member State, Associated county or a Third country, who would like to expand their specialised knowledge through the execution of research projects at outstanding Hungarian research sites. In the frame of the support scheme, maximum 2 years of basic or applied research can be funded. C./ Reintegration scheme: The scheme is open for those experienced researchers, who aim to form research units in Hungary, who are nationals of an EU Member State or an Associated country and who lived for at least 36 months in a Third country prior to the submission of the proposal. In the frame of the support scheme, maximum 2 -3 years of basic or applied research can be funded, which helps the researchers to found the basis of a long-term research work at the host institute.'

Introduzione (Teaser)

A research and technology support programme has been initiated in Hungary to support the career development of researchers. This being realised through drives to enable and promote international mobility.

Descrizione progetto (Article)

Seeking to contribute to the diverse career development of researchers, the EU-funded 'Hungarian support programme for improving the transnational mobility of researchers' (TRANSMOB_HU) project supports international and inter-sectorial research collaboration. Efforts are directed towards enhancing brain circulation as well as achieving wide-range application of the European Charter and Code of Conduct for Mobility principles.

Activities cover schemes related to outgoing mobility, incoming mobility and reintegration. A maximum of 2 to 3 years funding for basic or applied research will help researchers to establish a long-term research relationship with the host institute.

Open to Hungarian experienced researchers, the first scheme supports the execution of research projects at outstanding international research sites.

The second scheme applies to research at international sites for non-Hungarian experienced researchers who are nationals of an EU Member State, Associated Country or a third country.

The reintegration scheme is for experienced researchers wishing to form research units in Hungary. They must be nationals of an EU Member State or an Associated Country and have lived in a third country for at least 36 months prior to application.

To date, 15 contracts have been concluded for funding, with over 10 of these for researchers in the outgoing mobility scheme. TRANSMOB_HU expects that by project-end a total of 65 fellow-years will be funded. These translate to 26 outgoing, 15.5 for incoming and 23.5 for reintegration.
