'In 2011, five partners will organise four events in respective major Greek cities:, Athens, Volos, Patras and Ioannina. The events have been carefully designed in such a way so as to target audience from all ages and backgrounds. The selected venues are spacious and can host with comfort, both outdoors and indoors, the thousands of participants that are expected. Dozens of researchers (both male and female) have already been contacted and agreed to get actively involved in all interactive activities (games, puzzles, experiments etc.) planned for the night of the events. Researchers will also be present in the European corner of each event and will help the audience learn in an “edutainment” manner more about the European Union and research. The awareness campaign that will lead to the events is divided in two sections: a) local awareness activities carried out by each partner taking into consideration the local particularities and local key stakeholders that will be mobilized and b) national promotional activities, such as TV spots and inserts in national media, circulation of stamp dedicated to researchers’ night and on-line tools that will promote the European initiative and direct public for more information to the ReN2011 website. The impact of the events will be measured using quantitative data from questionnaires, number of participants and qualitative data such as references in media during the post-event days. The consortium will analyze how the events affected public’s perception of researchers’ image, researcher’s and other specific objectives that will be posed during the early phase of the project.'
