'THE TOPOLOGY OF CONTACT 3-MANIFOLDS WILL BE INVASTIGATED. THE MAIN TOOLS ARE SURGERY, MORSE THEORY, HANDLE DECOMPOSITIONS, OPEN BOOK DECOMPOSITIONS, FIBERED KNOTS, CONVEXITY,HEEGAARD FLOER THEORY AND OZSVATH-SZABO INVARIANTS. ALSO 4-DIMENSIONAL MANIFOLDS WITH GEOMETRIC STRUCTURES SUCH AS STEIN FILLINGS, SYMPLECTIC FILLINGS AND LEFSCHETZ FIBRATIONS ON THEM WILL BE INVOLVED IN THE INVESTIGATION.'
